May is all about lambs in Iceland - they are everywhere! I took far too many photos of lambs, but this was the cutest. Gosh they were adorable. When I'd spot some I'd yell "Lamb Alert!" and my poor hubby knew we'd be stopping for a photo op.
This yarn selection was actually in a gas station. I kid you not! You can get yarn everywhere in Iceland. Amazing!
This is me in front of Alafoss - the waterfall for which the yarn factory was named. The factory has now moved, and the old building has become the outlet store where I spent many happy hours, and kronar!
This fellow had particularly impressive horns, no?
In Reykjavik you can visit the Hand Kitting Association of Iceland store. They even had a Canadian flag out front! The prices for yarn are comparable to the Alafoss Factory outlet, and they have loads of knitted items as well. If you can only get to one store in Reykjavik, you could do worse! This is where I made my "oh, I'm sure we could pack just a little more yarn" visit at the very end of our trip.
This ewe was grazing at the side of the road and I made my hubby stop so I could roll down the window and admire all that future yarn. She was unimpressed with the attention.
You didn't think I could visit all these wooly places and not stock up, did you? Here I am leaving the Alafoss Factory outlet store with bags o' lopi. Yum!
Photos of the newly acquired stash will follow...
I love the ewe. Perfect photo to show off how different Icelandic sheep are. Thick and warm and long fibery goodness.

Iceland is sounding more and more like one of those Mecca's of Knitting. I must find a way to go over there one day! How cute is that lamb? And how good are you, to only get a few bags! hehehe.
Bring on the stash pics :D
