I finally sewed the ribbon onto the pink baby sweater (which was knit up and washed and "blocked" (as much as you can block acrylic) days ago). Oooh! Double parentheses - is that even legal??!!
You know, it turned out okay. As well as I imagined the soft, floppy Bernat Satin could turn out. The ribbon looks pretty. Can you tell I had to tie it about fifty times before I could get it to look like a decent bow? Hee hee. I'm re-thinking making matching baby slippers with this yarn. I think a hat might be a better choice for the yarn. I do have enough of the second ball to knit either slippers or a small hat, I think. We'll see what I feel inspired to do later this week (if anything).
To re-cap, the pattern is from the Craft Yarn Council website - it's a freebie, knit in one piece from back to front, with seams down the sides and under the arm. The pattern forgets to tell you to knit that 5 stitch garter cuff when you start the sleeves, so if you ever make this sweater, add that instruction as soon as you cast on for the sleeves!
I knit it on 5mm needles. The yarn is a very pretty pink (called Sea Shell) and extremely soft but it's softness makes it limp, so I would never recommend it for anything with a lot of seams, except stuffed toys, which I've used it for a lot in the past. Just not for flat things! It's late, I'm rambling. I will shush now!
